BIG’s story begins in the 1980s, when founder Mansour ElBarbery’s father established one of Egypt’s most respected auto parts businesses. Growing up immersed in the family automotive trade, Mansour developed deep industry knowledge before earning dual degrees in Automotive Engineering Technology and Business Administration in the United States. He went on to gain corporate finance experience with an LBO firm specializing in distressed automotive assets, later founding Barbary Group USA. There, he led restructuring and liquidation deals, launched one of the first e-commerce auto parts platforms during the 1990s dot-com boom, and achieved strong returns from early-stage online ventures in the United States.

In 2010, Mansour returned to Egypt and founded **BIG – Barbary Investment Group**, naming it to continue his father’s legacy while pioneering a future-focused vision. He took BIG public as a leading automotive and equity investment firm, though at the time Egypt’s market faced barriers like limited online payments and underdeveloped fintech. Today, with rapid growth in digital infrastructure, fintech, and e-commerce adoption, BIG is entering the market aggressively. Leveraging Mansour’s combined automotive expertise and investment banking experience, BIG is set to disrupt how auto parts and cars are bought and sold online. Unlike many failed attempts in the sector, with Mansour’s leadership, failure is not an option.

Under his direction, BIG has grown into a diversified investment powerhouse specializing in equity investments, M&A, and corporate restructuring across automotive, industrial, and capital markets. The firm has led acquisitions, established a free zone for auto parts and vehicles, and built global partnerships with Volkswagen, Audi, Stellantis, JAC, and Piaggio. Today, BIG stands at the intersection of legacy and innovation—delivering genuine parts, competitive pricing, same-day delivery, and transformative investment strategies.
